Glenn Maxwell, a productive car from Australia, took an unlimited break between the T20I series between Australia and Sri Lanka last year. Pravsha suffered from a mental illness and this is the main reason for his sudden decision. He also received 100% support from the Australian Cricket Company. Now the know-it-all briefly told him what was going on in his head and who helped him through it.
At the moment, the schedule for professional cricketers is rather tight. And they have to stay away from their family, friends and loved ones for a long time, which sometimes leads to psychological problems. Glenn Maxwell, a 31-year-old gambler, is not the first to have problems. But he’s the one who talked about it in public.
Glenn Maxwell reveals that his fiancée Vini Raman notices that he is not well.
Glenn Maxwell recently stated in a podcast that it was his partner Vini Raman who helped him overcome his psychological problems. According to him, she was the one who noticed something when he played in the Walk Cup. It didn’t go so well, because despite his fatigue he was looking forward to the upcoming series.
At the time, he didn’t know what to do with his life. He thought just far enough. But when he didn’t feel well, even after he met his family, Vini Raman felt something. Maxwell himself admitted that he had looked too far ahead and needed time to think about his life.
I think the first time she [Raman] noticed I wasn’t myself was at the beginning of the summer, when I won the Challenge Cup. I guess I was away from home for eight months then. I was just cooking, I was tired and I wanted to go to another exhibition. I was already thinking about how I would improve and where I would be at the end of the summer, my thoughts were rushed, I was thinking so far ahead.
I completely forgot what I was doing, and she [Raman] noticed right away. I guess when we got back to Melbourne, I finally got to see a family, I wasn’t a bubbly and sparkling creature yet. I wasn’t happy most of the time, and I didn’t notice, I thought I was tired, it’s just one of those things… I’m going to make it, Glenn Maxwell said when Neroli Meadows was quoted in the new Ordinerole podcast.
However, after his recovery and return to the pitch, the Australian international made a remarkable comeback to competitive cricket, with 398 victories for the Melbourne Stars on the 2019-20 BBL. Last month Maxwell also got engaged to his old friend Vini Raman, who lives in Melbourne.
