BDiapers launches country’s first of its kind hybrid cloth diapers

Bengaluru startup innovates in baby diapering, will usher in unique range in India

Bengaluru, August 3: A city-based startup in the natural and organic baby products space has launched the country’s first of its kind hybrid cloth diapers. BDiapers is a healthy, affordable, eco-friendly disposable diaper that does not break the bank, and is all set to ease life for moms and kids across the country.

Speaking to the media here, Ms. Amrita Vaswani, Founder, CEO said – “when my first baby was born, I was tired of the chemicals in disposables, and the premium price tag on organic diapers was mocking my frugality. It was then that I decided to make Bdiapers affordable, keeping only the part that touches the baby (the disposable inserts) as chemical-free as possible.” The shell covers are creative and simple and don’t need a daily wash. The patented 2 -part hybrid system allows for the passage of air reducing the growth of bacteria, making the diaper guaranteed rash-free. We are extremely delighted to serve the health needs of babies and provide evolved moms an alternate, affordable and healthy solution. Now mothers do not have to deal with the guilt of choosing between cloth and disposable. Bdiapers provides mothers with a solution that incorporates the health of cloth and the convenience of disposables in a truly leak-proof, rash-free system. BDiapers is the one and only ‘truly’ hybrid diaper in the country, and thus will be a complete innovation in baby diapering”.

Elaborating on the product, she added – “Hybrids are simply diapers separated into covers and insert pads. Bdiapers is unique as the cloth shells are designed in a 2-part system eliminating the need for a daily wash. The pouch helps separate the “cloth” from the “diaper” making it as close to a disposable (yet it isn’t completely). The diapers are sized like any other, giving a leak-proof snug fit with comfort on the baby.”

“We are not just bringing in a new product, but are creating a category of diapers that sit in between cloth and disposable types. With BDiapers, the pouches are waterproof (but not plastic) and will not ‘crack’ like a regular plastic over several hundreds of washes. Each and every aspect of the diaper is designed with premium trims keeping in mind the health and safety of the baby.  More vitally, there is ample room in the insert for air circulation; this reduces the growth of bacteria making sure the babies are safe from allergies, infection, or rashes, given the weather here in India.

BDiapers, in simple terms, is a set of chemical-free disposable insert pads that go into the cloth covers. In this two-part combo, the diaper inserts can be disposed of, and the covers can be reused. This design makes sure that there is minimum contact to disposables on the baby. The big advantage in this, over conventional cloth diapers, is that the covers don’t need a daily wash and you can use 1-2 covers till the baby moves on to the larger size. The insert pads are the actual diaper part. Bdiapers does away with the cumbersome aspects of cloth diapers like managing the washing, airing, folding, stripping, resizing, and then cleaning up the leaks.

The company manufactures its entire product range in India and plans to introduce more unique diapering solutions catering specifically to the Indian mothers and our climatic needs. The inserts hold as good as a diaper (3-5 hours depending on the age of the baby) and are extremely eco-friendly as after the solid is dumped in the toilet, they can be disposed of like any bio- waste. They are also dioxin, bleach, phthalates, dye, and fragrance-free hence hypoallergenic.

Bdiapers are available on Amazon, Flipkart, Firstcry, and 17 other eCommerce stores, and also at the company web store at www.bdiapers.in. Over the next few months, these will be available in all major grocery stores and pharmacies across India.
