The Compassionate Gesture by Former University President Kanta Gwala

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], July 17: Given the oxygen crisis, the young charismatic leader, Kanta Gwala, and her NSUI team are putting in all their efforts to support India’s healthcare infrastructure. Heartbroken by the state of medical infrastructure in the country, the politician donated an oxygen concentrator Machine for the hospital located at her native Bhopalgarh, Rajasthan. The Oxygen concentrator Machine will generate oxygen to cure Covid 19 patients.

This initiative led by Former Student’s Union President Kanta Gwala and Students leader Chetan Gwala is inspired by State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former parliament member Badriram Jakhar. The donation was made in the presence of Chief block Medical Officer Dr. Dilip Choudhary, Dr. Mukesh Dhaka, Dr. Hanuman Choudhary, Congress leader Shiv Karan Saini, Block Congress President Rajesh Jakhar, Mahendra Pratap Deora, Simbhubhai Prajapat, and many more.

The spirit of Kanta’s generosity is also prompting her village people to offer help in several other ways to fight the battle.  As such, the country’s healthcare system is reaching a breaking point, with basic things like beds and oxygen supplies running low.

Her donation of oxygen concentrator machine to hospital in its endeavour to procure and provide life-saving oxygen concentrators to hospitals across the nation in this time of need is incredibly heart-warming.

Kanta says that “I have helped by contributing to the cause and hope that their effort soon reaches out to many more. As the nation’s crumbling healthcare system struggles to cope, we hope that the oxygen tanks Singapore sent over will be of use. No matter what we may think of the situation in our country, we can’t deny that the people there need help, and we should do something if we can. The second wave of coronavirus has put citizens’ health and healthcare systems under immense pressure. Providing oxygen for a large number of serious COVID patients is the need of the hour.  It is heartening to see how people around us are rising to the occasion. The dangerous virus has once again risen to such an extent that now this pandemic is raging with much greater intensity. It is seen India’s healthcare infrastructure is at the stake and may collapse under pressure. Today, we have to stand together behind everyone that is working hard to fight this pandemic.”

This donation is undoubtedly a “compassionate gesture” as the country battles an acute oxygen shortage due to exploding Covid-19 cases. The locals from her village have regarded Kanta’s donation as, “An act of kindness that will surely go a long way.
